Thanks to Wayne for the following report: 9 sphinx blokes took part in this years county championship at Warley Woods in Birmingham On 4 lap course approx 10km , basically across 1 side of a hill , with conditions being cold but dry the charge for the run to the first corner began , and set us in our way With Craig making his sphinx xc debut produced a excellent run.
15 Sphinx runners completed this race, which incorporates a dew pond, a length of four foot diameter drainage pipe and a wade along a length of the Gaddesby Brook. The organisers welcome guests and these races are completely free, and there is almost always complimentary tea, coffee and cake afterwards. 12 Sphinx men made the trip to Gloucester to compete in the 1st league race of the cross-country season, aka Barry Allen’s birthday run! The team did well, finishing in 6th place overall with some great individual performances. Our thanks for driving go to Garry, Wayne and those that met us there, and thanks to Wayne for organising us.
