Mitch and Jackie Timms enjoyed a wet 10k race around Milton Keynes to round off the EMGP series. Rumours that this was an early wedding anniversary treat from Mitch to Jackie are unsubstantiated at this point đ
In the series overall, Tom Marchi was 1st in his category, Jackie Timms was 4th in her category and Mitch Timms was 10th in his.
7 Sphinx runners took on the ups and downs of Weedon 10k on a hot evening.
7 Sphinx runners completed this one-lap rural race and enjoyed Foxton Locks as well! Well done to Tom Marchi on taking first place in his category.
Mitch and Jackie Timms and Tom Marchi completed the 5th race in the 8-race series. All three placed in the top 10 in their category, with Tom 2nd in his.
The next race in the EMGP series is The Harborough 5 on Tuesday, 13 June.
8 Sphinx runners made the trip over to Corby to complete the Corby 5, which is part of the East Midlands Grand Prix series. Well done to Tom and Kev for finishing 2nd and 4th in their categories.
The next race in the series is the the Banbury 5 on Tuesday 6 June.
6 Sphinx runners completed this 5 mile route through the Northamptonshire countryside, the second race in the East Midlands Grand Prix series. Well done to all 6, but especially to Tom Marchi, who was 1st in his category.

15 Sphinxees took part in the first race of this yearâs East Midlands Grand Prix competition. A breezy evening, but dry throughout (and very firm underfoot!) made for good running conditions.
Well done to Tom, who finished first in his age category and to Kev N. and Jackie who were 5th and 10th in their respective age groups. And congratulations to Wayne Broadbent who wore slicks and took the racing line throughout to roar home and achieve his fastest ever 2 lap time (42:10), though pole position and pride of place went to Alex (on a traffic free course!), who was closely followed by Kev D. 4 down and 4 to go for Imran, Jackie and myself as we attempt to complete 8 races in 9 days J Roll on Monday!

âWe doneâ Weedon again then, 6 of us this time. Flat as ever. Course PBâs for Glassman (by 12 minutes), but only because he was injured last time (again) and walked most of it, and also for Laura by 4 minutes (now thatâs what we proper athletes call genuine improvement Richards!). Nothing much else to report, except that Allen âRockefellaâ El-Sour is currently running at ÂŁ26 a race for this yearâs EMGP series. Thanks to Dave W. for driving.

4 of us made the trip to Foxton Locks for the Harborough 5. The photo shows us at 7.40 p.m., just five minutes before the start, with the cows in the background scurrying for cover. Probably something to do with the grey cloud directly above us that decided to unleash its full potential at 7.44 p.m. just as we were standing on the start line đ Notwithstanding the torrential rain, we all got round in respectable times (but nothing that the handicap secretary needs to be concerned about ahead of Monks Kirby this Thursday) and Jamie actually had an injury free run (no spasms, cramps, pulled muscles, diarrhoea, constipation, scarlet fever, man/bird flu, chickenpox, broken nails, twisted eyelashes, etc., etc.).
