Many thanks to all runners, marshals and spectators who gathered at Coombe Abbey on a November Sunday morning to take part in our Coombe 8 event.
This year featured an all new route and also a new distance option whilst still retaining our famous features of bomb craters and river crossings.
Special thanks must go to our race director Wayne who put in countless hours to ensure the event ran smoothly and successfully.

The Sphinx AC Coombe 8 is a tough multi-terrain course with a mixture of wooded trails and undulating farm land at the historic site of Coombe Abbey on the outskirts of Coventry.
Back for 2023, in a new format, the course has been changed to spend more time in the woodlands and less time in the open “Sheep field”, or the first time ever there is also the option of an 8km (5mile) route for those less sure about running the full 8miles. It will be held on the 19th November and entries can be found here:

With entry including a long sleeved technical t-shirt, at just £20 or £22 depending on affiliation this race or just £15 or £17 for the shorter distance, this race offers a mornings racing and fantastic value for money.
The course
Coombe Country Park is a working estate, which means that boundaries change and sections of the venue can become available or unavailable from year to year. The course was measured at approximately 8km and 8miles and both distances will utilise the same paths, with the 8mile route doing two laps of the woodland area to the North.
