The Ryton 5, Kenilworth half and Rugby 10 offer the 5-mile, half-marathon and 10-mile handicap trophies respectively. Jackie Stuart will calculate a handicap time for everyone and the person that beats that time by the greatest margin wins the trophy. The first Sphinx man and lady at the Northbrook 10k will win the Bagley trophy. A great turnout of 33 Sphinx runners for a 5 mile race around Ryton Pools, which was well organised by Spa Striders and is part of the Warwickshire Road Race League.
There were numerous good performances, with PBs for Jamie and Natalie, amongst others. Well done to all!
9 Sphinx runners completed this Saturday evening race, which is part of the Warwickshire Road Race League. The race starts and finishes at Mary Arden’s house, with a steep descent early on that awaits as a steep climb on the return.
10 Sphinx runners completed this well-organised and popular local 9-mile race. Conditions were good and there were good performances all-round.
It was the first time that Jayne, Lisa and Jamie had run this race … hope you enjoyed it!.
Steve, David (taking more than 8 1⁄2 minutes off last year’s time!), Pete and myself all set new course PBs, according to the historical statistics on the Arden 9 results page.
11 Sphinx runners completed the first race of the Warwickshire Road Race League season.
9 Sphinx runners completed the Godiva Autumnal 5 Mile race on Weds evening 20th August. Race conditions were dry and mild. The course was one short lap followed by two longer laps within the War Memorial Park. Five runners managed to set a new 5 mile PB.
1 Sphinx runner completed the BRAT Rowheath 5K race on Weds 13th August.
32 Sphinx runners returned no fewer than 12 PBs (according to runbritain), and the female U20 winner in the form of Catherine Gough!
