With the Godiva Festival occupying the usual Coventry parkrun venue, runners were forced to travel to get their parkrun fix.

A couple of visitors to Leamington notched PBs – well done to Bryan and Imran.

At Brueton, Darren Hallett made his parkrun debut, Kevin Dick made his Brueton debut, David West got within a second of his PB and Paul Cozens notched up his 101st parkrun.

Steven Osmond went furthest afield and ran Chichester parkrun for the first time.

Another week, another Sphinx runner reaching the 100 parkrun milestone – well done, Paul Cozens!

There was also a top 5 finish by Andy Wilkinson and PBs by Ella Preston and Lisa Abbott – well done to all!

Plenty of highlights at Coventry parkrun. Alex Bartlett ran his 100th parkrun and brought along a cake (very nice it was too!); Catherine Gough set and new PB and was first lady; Kevin Dick, Bryan McSharry and Sian Downing all set new PBs; and Ian Wilkinson completed his first walk-shuffle (his words, not mine) parkrun since his hip replacement – great to see him taking another step/stride in the right direction.

Alex Bartlett sampled the Guildford parkrun for the first time and moved on to 99 parkruns in total.

25 Sphinx AC runners/family/friends ran this weekend, with 1 first-timer and 3 PBs.

At Coventry, David West (first sub-21 time at Coventry), Bryan McSharry (first sub-22 time) and Rob Wheatley (first sub-19 time) achieved PBs.

Imran Ali travelled to take part in the Cannon Hill park run for the first time.

32 Sphinx AC runners/family/friends ran this weekend, with 1 first-timers and 4 PBs.

Ian Cunningham PB’d at Coventry, where Paul Slatford notched another top 5 finish.

The Cozens went to Chichester parkrun, where Jamie made his first appearance and Paul and Julie recorded PBs.

Alex Bartlett went to Northala Fields parkrun and finished in the top 10 with a PB.

22 Sphinx AC runners/family/friends ran this weekend, with 2 first-timers and 4 PBs.

The PBs were achieved by Kevin Dick, Jonathan Dowds and Lucy Marchi at Coventry, and Wayne Broadbent at Leamington.

David West and Steven Osmond made their debuts at Worcester and Gorleston Cliffs respectively.

Sphinx took over the running of organisation of Coventry parkrun yesterday, with blue and gold volunteers and pacers.

In addition it was great to see a couple of PBs and first timers. There were PBs for Karen Timothy (& Nelson) and Thomas Wilkinson. The first timers were Laura Duggins and mini-Sphinx Lacey Abbott.

Elsewhere, Alex Bartlett went to only the 2nd running of Harrow parkrun, and Hannah Downing and Catherine Gough went to Sheffield Hallam and Durham respectively.

Thank you to all my Sphinx AC colleagues (and others) who helped out at Park Run today; it was very much appreciated. I think it was a success and we managed to distribute plenty of fliers for the Summer 5 as well. We have had positive feedback about the pacers ( a new initiative for Coventry Park Run) and hopefully they worked for those who needed them and we were not too far off the pace!

Bryan McSharry recorded his second PB in as many weeks at Coventry and Robyn McSharry was 1st lady across the line.

The Sphinx Coventry results had a pair of Wilkinson bookends, with Andy in 8th and post-hip-op Ian completed the 5km less than 6 weeks (I think) after his operation.
