A Hallett double-PB was achieved at Coventry as both Darren and Ruth registered new bests around the course. Also, for the second time in two weeks, Lucy Wheatley improved on her previous best.
Elsewhere, Steve Osmond ran for the first time at Daventry and the Anstisses, Gerry, Judith and Tom, ran at Norwich.
It was all about Coventry as 16 Sphinx runners/family/friends completed the 5km course, with Lisa Abbott and Lucy Wheatley registering new PBs – well done!
The Easter weekend brought some parkrun tourism, with Lore taking in Greenwich parkrun for the first time, Ella Preston debuting at York and Steve Osmond being a first-timer at Doncaster South Park.
Well done to Monika on her PB at Coventry. It was also good to see Alex at Coventry after being given the all-clear to run. Kathryn was second lady on her debut at Bedfont.
On a beautiful March morning, Sphinx runners travelled near and far to start their weekend with a 5km parkrun. The Wilkinsons went to Reigate, where Ian completed his 200th parkrun and finished in the top 5. Steven Osmond went to Lancaster and almost heeded the pre-run advice of ‘don’t get carried away on the initial down hill because you will regret it when you “find” climb 2 on the trail portion of the run, enjoy’.
Well done to Steve and Lacey as they both registered PBs on a crisp parkrun morning at Coventry.
PBs were not threatened too much as many Sphinx runners’ eyes were on the following day’s Coventry half-marathon. There was one exception, however, as Ella Wilkinson set a new personal best.
Also at Coventry, numbers were swelled by runners from Coventry and Warwick Universities taking part in a bit inter-uni competition.
Elsewhere, Alex took in the South Manchester parkrun for the first time.
There was parkrun tourism aplenty this week, with most heading to the inaugural Stratford parkun, Wayne at Poole and Alex at Rushmoor.

At Coventry, Andy Hales notched up his 100th pakrun and Lore Paterson and Lisa Abbott set new PBs. At Brueton, Steve Osmond and Ian Cunningham set new PBs. Well done to everyone.

The conditions at Coventry were on the damp side with rain, rain and a bit more rain. Lisa and Lore didn’t allow that to slow them down and registered PBs.
