33rd Charnwood Hills race 03/02/19

Thank you to Kev Naughton for the following write up on this race Results from today’s event…. Bright and sunny conditions for the 10.00AM start, although somewhat chilly at -2 but improving. The ground conditions overall were good for running. With a lot of frost in the ground made it a bit more than firm but tacky in places where the sun had thawed. Always a ‘tuff’ event over 14 mile fell race, 440 metres of ascent and 440 metres of descent.

Midland XC Championships

Thank you to Wayne for the following write up and to Jackie Stuart for providing the results 9 Sphinx ladies and 7 Sphinx men represented the club at this year’s Midlands cross country championships at Newbold Comyn. Running 8km and 12km respectively. A new route was introduced that included part of the closed down golf course, while still taking a possible swim in the ditch, although it was not as swampy as previous races.
