National XC - Leeds
Thank you to Wayne for the following write up 2019 National XC championships took place this time up north, at Harewood House in Leeds. The 10 Sphinx ladies and 3 Sphinx men were greeted by very unexpected weather, it was clear blue sky and hot, making it feel more like a summer trail run, Well done to everyone who took part and enjoyed the challenge, full results are on the national cross country website

Tempo Events - Winter series Race 5 (17/Feb)
Thank you to Kev Naughton for the following write up and results Sphinx AC results for the event….there were 257 finishers. Kevin Naughton…48.28 (56th) Lisa Abbot…57.01 (133rd) Graham Smith…57.13 (135th) Vicki Hand…1.06.47 (213th) Overall fair race conditions albeit somewhat fresh. Over 50% of the course surface over Larkstoke Hill and down into Ilmington proved to be extremely greasy/slippy due to an excess amount of mud/soil and manure deposited on the road….

Final XC league 2018/2019
Thank you to Wayne for the following write up and photos 14 Sphinx Ladies and 12 sphinx men and even our Commander in Chief (Bergs) made the long trip down to Cattle Country Farm, somewhere in the back end of Gloucestershire for the final race in this seasons cross country league. Due to some flooding the course was altered which meant that there was no need to swim but even still the course was a challenging one with strong winds!
