Sat 10/Feb…Morton Morrell Distance 10K Time: 45.53 Position 31st of 175 finishers (1st M60) A relatively flat course out through Ashorne with an incline at 6K, through Newbold Pacey with a further rise at 9K upto the finish. A further 70 completed another lap for the 20K Conditions on the day were cold and wet, raining throughout with little or no breeze.

Thanks to Catherine Gough for the following report and photos: “The future of distance running in Durham is coloured orange” according to a Durham City Harriers coach. This is my first season running in the North Eastern Harrier League cross country, running in an orange vest. You can’t fail to notice the North East is very hilly, making the Newbold Comyn hill look flat in comparison! All the children, men & women run in the the same place on the same day.
Thanks to Kev Naughton and Craig Pears for the following race reports: This is a fell race of approx 14 miles and follows public footpaths, open country involving 1200 feet of ascent over Bradgate Park, Broombriggs and Beacon Hill country park. Weather on the day was ideal…dry, bright and fresh. Conditions under foot very tricky with lots of mud. All effort in going forwards seemed to go either sideways or backward!
