A good turnout of 15 juniors travelled to Hatton on a cold and misty morning to run in the first of 5 x country events. Running a variety of distances they all ran a good race in quite muddy conditions, not the best conditions to run in pink trainers!!! Good times had by all. Well done. Next event 16th November Wolverhampton
Over the last 3 months the under 12 juniors have taken part in a mini athletics series. Run on 3 separate tracks, Godiva, Pingles and Rugby they have competed against athletes from other clubs and against themselves to improve times run and distances thrown and jumped.
5 Sphinx juniors took part in this 2km race last weekend, with good times all-round.
While the seniors were slogging around the Memorial Park last Wednesday the juniors were taking part in the next round of the Quad Kids. 7 juniors ran, jumped and threw themselves around the Pingles track producing some great results on a very warm evening. Well done to all. The final meeting is at Rugby track on Wednesday 16 July. Let’s see if we can get a good turn out of juniors.
21 Sphinx AC juniors competed in 4 events – a 75 metre sprint, 600 metre run, a long jump series and a throwing event. Well done to all. There are another 2 meetings, at Nuneaton and Rugby, later in the summer.
Callum Holden represented Sphinx AC in the U15 100m at Nuneaton, finishing in 6th place. Well done, Callum.
