Sphinx 5km Handicap - February 2021

Well done to everybody who took part in the virtual 5km handicap for February. We had 44 runners in total, with 20 beating their predicted times. Congratulations to Sarah for crossing the virtual finish line first, beating her predicted time by over 5 minutes. Collette and David McLean completed the podium places respectively, both beating their predicted times by well over 90 seconds. Don’t forget, the March 10km handicap has now begun, and will continue until the end of the month.

Spring Mob Match Results (Round 3)

Thank you Kevin for organising this virtual competition with our fellow Coventry clubs, and for his write up below. Also, a big thank you and congratulations to all Sphinx runners who took part and won us yet another Mob Match! Firstly, thank you all who took part in out parkrun mob match and running your little socks off! With ages ranging from 9 to 66 (I’ll let you guess who that may be), it shows the broad range of people we have in the club.

Results for Club La Santa international running challenge, 26-29-Nov-2017

Thanks to Lisa for the following report: Thursday 23rd November and 7 finely tuned athletes and support headed out to the Lanzarote Running Challenge to represent Sphinx Team GBR 😉 We stopped in the sports complex Club La Santa which offers everything from kayaking and mini triathlons to morning gymnastics, making for a busy timetable. We took part in four races over consecutive days. The only thing that was missing was the Mitch Timms rigorous timetable which left more time for sun bathing.
