Really tough course, 180m of climb. Very well organised.
Atough 10km race with ~175m accumulated ascent (Nothbrook 10km is 100m in comparison!). Good times all round and Ash finished 6th overall and first in his category.
32 Sphinx runners returned no fewer than 12 PBs (according to runbritain), and the female U20 winner in the form of Catherine Gough!
Darren Hallett achieved an excellent PB of 38:40 when finishing 13th in this race. Well done, Darren!
6 Sphinx runners made the straightforward trip to the eighth and final EMGP race of the series. Conditions were sunny as we made our way from the starting field onto various pavements and underpasses, via numerous twists and turns, before a short finish on grass.
For this race, Ash took the first prize in the M40 category and Tom finished first in the M70 category, but there was no prize.
For the series, Ash took first prize for M40, Tom tied for M70 but lost out on some kind of count-back.
Six Sphinx runners completed the 7th race in the series – Weedon – which is an interesting course with at least a couple of challenging climbs.
There were fewer Sphinx runners than normal, due to several reasons, but Ash and Tom both took home their category prizes!
