Hats off to the legend that is Bob Carey, who retires after 20 years service as race secretary for the league. As Chair Bergs states:

Thanks to Wayne for the following race report:

14 sphinx made the shorter than normal trip to Aldridge for the final race of the season. On the day we finished in 6th place, and with the b team in 2nd place, which meant overall Sphinx finished in 7 th place in the league out of 18 teams, as we battled 3 windy and swampy laps, with Dave and Allen who both had excellent high finishes but also throughout the whole team, which means this year’s Sphinx xc trophy was tied with Darren Hallet and Dave Brewis finishing on level league positions, well done to both of you. we even had one of those rarest of things taking part and actually getting mud on his laces and running for the club, a certain Mr mitch ( not offering to buy a beer for his new teammates) timms!!!!!!!!! Thank you to everyone that has taken part in the league this season, and enjoy those summer recovery months before we roll up again in November to have another go at getting promotion
