Thanks to Wayne for the following report: The 2nd of this seasons xc league saw 10 sphinx traveling down to Gloucester , this time the 3 lap course was run in reverse , well done to everyone who raced great effort A new Imran Internet challenge has emerged and that is the unique ability to keep your full recovery beer in the glass and not spill it all over your team mates !
With cross-country league races in the afternoon, numbers were a little lower than usual but that didn’t stop Alex Bartlett and Vicky Brewin from registering PBs at Coventry…well done and congratulations. Elsewhere, the Carvers were first-timers at Sandwell Valley. Coventry 23 Sphinx AC runners/family/friends ran this weekend, with no first-timers and 2 PBs. Thanks to Lisa for the following report: Thursday 23rd November and 7 finely tuned athletes and support headed out to the Lanzarote Running Challenge to represent Sphinx Team GBR đ We stopped in the sports complex Club La Santa which offers everything from kayaking and mini triathlons to morning gymnastics, making for a busy timetable. We took part in four races over consecutive days. The only thing that was missing was the Mitch Timms rigorous timetable which left more time for sun bathing.
Congratulations to the Halletts on their new arrival, and thanks to Darren for the lovely picture and words: I thought that today might be a suitable day to bring a little cheer to the Sphinx world. Amazingly there were other races on Sunday, not just the Coombe 8 (I know, hard to believe :) ). One such race was the Clowne half-marathon, where Andy Mc, Ninj and Jane ran, with Jane finishing in 2nd place in her category.
