Thank you to Sally-Anne for the write up on this race. While Sunday looked to be the perfect conditions for a half marathon. I eagerly made my way to Birmingham to take part in the half which was to be a new and improved course. The wet and windy conditions which would have been ideal for a boat race rather than a run, saw over 10 000 people take to the streets in the miserable weather.
Ann and Allen took part in this race. Thank you to Ann for the write up We left Coventry at very early at 5.30 am to get to Manchester.It was a very very wet race day. I completed it in 1 hr 41 mins and Allen had a personal best of 1 hr 20 mins. It was a great day despite the weather and the crowds were fantastic. A very well organised event .

Budapest Marathon and 30km run – October 2018 Last weekend 3 Sphinx runners with friends and family made the trip to Budapest to run in the Marathon and 30km event. After a few days of sightseeing in this interesting capital city the day of the run was soon with us. The course followed the banks of the river Danube with a few bridges to negotiate. The weather was unseasonably warm but pretty good for running and never too hot.
Thank you to Lisa for the following write up For months I have watched four of my closest running friends follow their training plans for the Chester Marathon and whilst it sounded like it was going to be a great weekend away I was never really tempted. Fast forward to Thursday night, 3 days before and the offer of a free place to join them all of a sudden instead of being a specatator I was going to be running with my side kick Sophie.
