Coniston 14

Thank you to Steve Court for the following report 6 Sphinx runners made a weekend trip to the Lake District to run in the Coniston 14 road race. The race has been run since 1982 and as the website describes “The hilly route follows the 13.875 miles of road that circles Coniston water and there are stunning views of the surrounding mountains” The day was good for running, overcast with a light breeze.

Coventry Half marathon

Well done to all our runners who took part in this half marathon, it was great to see so many of us all in one place! The sun was shining but not hot, just the right running conditions. The race started at Cov uni The Hub and finished outside Coventry Cathedral. The course was slightly altered which meant that there was no hairpin section down Long Lane so that was a nice bonus on the way round :-).

Sage Reading Half marathon

On Sunday 17th March Kathryn took part in the Reading half. She knocked over 3 minutes off her pb with a chip time of 1 hour 24 minutes 19 seconds. Sutton Park road relays

Sphinx men were able to get a team together for this years 12 stage road relays at Sutton Park, unfortunately with Coventry half marathon the following day and the lure of parkrun, meant that we only had the bare minimum of runners, with no reserve runners, in the end did not able to complete the race. Thank you to everyone that took part and enjoyed the format of the race, and the social side of competing in the relays,
