Thank you to Stuart Bankbrook for this write up
I ran the Boston UK Marathon on the 14th April (not the famous one in the USA), it is said to be the flattest marathon in the UK. Well I can confirm it is the flattest one I have ever run and I managed a new PB of 3:17:50. There are three races on offer the marathon, half marathon and fun run. They start at the centre of Boston in the market square and finish at Boston College. The routes are quiet country roads with water stations every 2.5 miles but with very few spectators. You can see the runners in front meandering through the countryside for a long way. The limit is 1000 for the marathon but just under 800 entered but saying that it is extremely well organised. The only thing they don’t warn you against is the wind being out in Lincolnshire it is extremely flat and but very exposed to the elements. If you are looking for a PB and are lucky with the weather you should get it here for the half or full.
