Thank you to Sally-Anne for the write up on this race.
While Sunday looked to be the perfect conditions for a half marathon. I eagerly made my way to Birmingham to take part in the half which was to be a new and improved course.
The wet and windy conditions which would have been ideal for a boat race rather than a run, saw over 10 000 people take to the streets in the miserable weather.
The course was slightly different, starting at Broad street and being in reverse with what they said would have no hill finish. To my delight around the corner I came near Selfidges to see what was the lovely hill which continued for around 400m until the 200m to go sign, when it flattened slightly for a sprint finish.
I thoroughly enjoyed the course even with all the rain 'pools' which was a delight to run through as I knocked off 22 mins from the previous year completing it in 2:40:45. This is a PB for any half I have ever done.
