8 Sphinx runners made the short trip to Rugby for the 3rd race in the East Midlands Grand Prix series. Congratulations to Helen for setting a new PB, and Tom and Kev for placing 2nd and 4th in their categories.

Barry and Rachael Allen completed this multi-lap half-marathon around Draycote Water, with Barry clocking a PB in the process!
Mitch and Jackie Timms warmed up for the Hilly 100 by completing this half-marathon in Gloucestershire.
Another parkrunday came and went. Paul Gocher ran his first ever parkrun and Pete Whitehouse and Lacey Abbott registered new PBs at Coventry – well done!
Elsewhere, The Carvers continue their pakrun tour, this time making their first appearances at Dudley.

6 Sphinx runners completed this 5 mile route through the Northamptonshire countryside, the second race in the East Midlands Grand Prix series. Well done to all 6, but especially to Tom Marchi, who was 1st in his category.

The first of the Thursday night handicaps saw 51 runners take part at Brinklow. The evening started off quite warm, but for those of us standing around it soon felt very cold.
The first person to cross the line was one of two guests, Joanne Bass. The second person over the line, and winner of the handicap, was Fiona Quinn. The fastest runner was Rob Wheatley in a time of 33:42 and the fastest female was Lisa Abbott in 41:22. Wayne was closest to his estimated time.

I did the Headley 5 Mile Fun Run in Hampshire with my sister Vicki and brother-in-law James on the May bank-holiday Monday. It was a 5 mile cross-country race through a hilly wood, so was hard work. Vicki came 3rd female in her age group and James came 3rd male in his age group, which they were both really happy with.
I did it in 37:45, which isn’t bad, considering the course and that I had Silverstone 10k the following day. It was an enjoyable race all round, with all the spectators really encouraging everyone, and the free chocolate and drinks at the end were appreciated.
Imran Ali completed this half-marathon is under 2 hours in warm and sunny conditions, in the process completing Mitch’s 8 races in 9 days challenge.
11 Sphinx runners completed this popular and well-organised 10k race, with the incentive of Prosecco at the end!
